Vivoe · Paper Trail · Effective September 23, 2026

Privacy, crease by crease.

A detailed map of what Vivoe touches, what stays on your device, when system permissions appear, and how you can clear your creative trail. No account or sign-in is required.

The short version

Vivoe is an account-free origami creation app. You can select or capture a photo, crop it, follow animated folds, adjust the paper look, save the result in a local vault, export a still image or process GIF, favorite templates, and attach an optional voice note to a saved piece.

The core creative workflow is designed around local device storage. Vivoe does not ask you to create a cloud profile and does not need your name, email address, phone number, password, contacts, precise location, or payment details to provide the folding experience.

A useful distinction: selecting a photo for a fold is different from exporting a finished piece. Reading lets you choose source material. Add-only access lets Vivoe place a new output in Photos. Each action has its own system-controlled permission.

No-account design

Vivoe does not require an account to open the studio or use the main features. Because there is no Vivoe account, the app does not collect account registration fields such as a username, login email, password, recovery phone number, or account profile image.

Account-free use also means there is no Vivoe account synchronization or account recovery service. If you delete the app, erase its storage, move to another device, or restore a device without the relevant app data, local vault content may not follow you. Export important pieces and maintain a device backup if you want another copy.

Photos and camera

Choosing from Photos

When you tap Photo Library, Vivoe asks for photo-library access and opens the system photo picker. The image you choose is decoded, resized when necessary, and written to a temporary local file so the crop and folding renderer can use it. Vivoe does not need unrelated images for the folding task.

Taking a new picture

When you tap Camera, Vivoe opens the native camera interface. A captured image is converted into a local working file and then follows the same crop and fold flow as a selected image. Vivoe does not record continuous video through this camera feature.

Cropping and rendering

Your pan and zoom choices determine the square portion used as the paper surface. The renderer maps that image over folded facets, creates previews, and may create a finished PNG or animated GIF. This processing occurs as part of the feature you requested.

Voice notes

The microphone is used only after you choose Record voice note from a saved piece. Vivoe records a single-channel audio file for the note, lets you stop and save it, and associates the saved file with that vault record.

You can play the note through the device speaker, replace it with a new recording, or delete it. Leaving the detail screen while a new recording is active stops and discards that unfinished recording. Deleting the related vault piece also removes its linked voice-note file from Vivoe's local storage.

Declining microphone access does not prevent photo folding, plain-paper folding, template browsing, or use of existing vault artwork.

Vault and preferences

The local keepsake vault stores metadata such as the template identifier and name, creation date, effect settings, and file paths for the finished image, GIF, custom cover, and voice note. The matching files are stored in Vivoe's app container on the device.

Vivoe also uses local preferences to remember onboarding completion and favorite template identifiers. These values help the app reopen in a familiar state. They are not account credentials and do not create a remote user profile.

A custom vault cover is copied into local app storage. Resetting the cover removes the custom cover file and returns the tile to the finished artwork image.

Exports and sharing

When you tap Save to Photos, Vivoe requests add-only photo-library permission and asks iOS to create a new photo-library asset from the finished image. If a process GIF exists and you choose to include it, Vivoe also asks iOS to add that file.

An exported item becomes a separate copy managed by Photos. It may be included in device or photo-library backups and may sync according to your device settings. Removing the original vault item from Vivoe does not remove an exported copy.

If you later share an exported image or GIF through another app, that destination controls what happens to the shared copy. Review the destination and audience before sending personal photos.

Your tracking choice

Before the main interface becomes available, Vivoe may display Apple's native App Tracking Transparency prompt. The prompt lets you decide whether activity may be used to measure promotion effectiveness and understand which campaigns lead people to discover the app across other companies' apps and websites.

The authorization status is maintained by iOS. Vivoe checks the system status and asks only when it remains undetermined. Once the status is allowed, denied, or restricted, the app does not repeatedly present the request. There is no custom pre-permission screen.

Declining the request does not disable the folding studio, photo tools, templates, vault, exports, or voice notes. Vivoe does not try to bypass the system choice.

How information moves

Core creative files are used on the device for the feature you selected. Vivoe does not require an account upload to fold a photo or keep a local vault entry.

Information can move beyond Vivoe when you intentionally export to Photos, share through another app, include app data in a device backup, or send information to the support address. Apple may also provide aggregated app diagnostics according to your device and App Store settings.

Vivoe does not need your contacts, calendar, health records, precise location, or payment credentials for the described features. The app should not request those permissions as part of the current folding workflow.

Retention and deletion

Working photo files may remain temporarily while a creation is active. Finished vault content remains in the app container until you delete the individual piece, clear app storage, or remove the app. Favorites and onboarding state remain in local preferences until changed or cleared.

Deleting a vault piece removes its locally associated finished image, GIF, motion file, custom cover, and voice note when those files are present. Exported copies remain in the destination where you placed them. To remove those copies, delete them from Photos, Files, Messages, cloud storage, or the relevant sharing destination.

Removing Vivoe from the device generally removes its local app container. Before doing so, export anything you want to keep.

Keeping your material safe

Vivoe limits access through native permission prompts and uses the app's private container for local creative files. These platform controls help separate Vivoe files from unrelated apps.

You also play an important part. Protect access to your device, install operating-system updates, review app permissions periodically, and be thoughtful about source photos or recordings that contain personal details. Avoid sending private files to support unless they are needed to investigate a problem.

No storage method is immune to device loss, physical access, accidental deletion, damaged backups, or operating-system failures. Keep independent copies of creations that are especially important to you.

Your controls

Choose the sourceSelect a photo, take a photo, or use plain paper without an image.
Control permissionsAllow or deny Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Tracking through iOS.
Manage the vaultSave, view, replace a cover or voice note, and delete individual pieces.
Control copiesDecide whether to export, share, back up, or remove each finished item.

If a permission was declined, you can review it later in iOS Settings. Some permission-dependent actions will remain unavailable unless access is restored, while unrelated parts of Vivoe continue to work.

Updates to this guide

This privacy guide may be updated when Vivoe adds a feature, changes where information is stored, adjusts a permission flow, or provides a new export destination. The effective date at the top shows when this edition was prepared.

Material changes should be reflected in an updated copy of this page and, when appropriate, in the app experience. You can use the copy button to keep a plain-text version for your records.
